Jennifer Williams, candidate for North Ward City Council in Trenton, released the following statement regarding Hamilton School Board candidate Nick Ferrara’s comments:

“The vile anti-Semitic and anti-LGBTQ comments from Hamilton School Board candidate Nick Ferrara are not only unacceptable, they are dangerous. Such bigoted views disqualify him for public office here in Mercer County or anywhere else.

We must always be aware that hateful ideologies have not faded into history. Prejudicial beliefs such as anti-Semitism, homophobia/transphobia and racism have not gone away and are not acceptable in our society or in our schools.

Having visited the Dachau concentration camp and seen the ovens that the Nazis used to exterminate Jews, LGBTQ people, handicapped individuals, political prisoners and so many others – I saw how horrible thoughts and words like those written by Mr. Ferrara could be turned into deadly action. I hope that he will one day take time to visit a concentration camp and reflect on his hateful words and learn the truth about the evils of the Holocaust.”
