Jersey City Unveils Protected Bike Lanes Network, Leading NJ on Strong Cycling Culture
As the 1st to Adopt Vision Zero, Jersey City Moves Full Speed Ahead with Multi-faceted Approach to Safer Streets
What: Named one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the state, Mayor Steven M. Fulop will join members from Bike JC and city officials to unveil the protected bike lanes being installed throughout Jersey City in an effort to advance the goals of the Vision Zero initiative and the Bike Master Plan.
With more than four miles already installed, the protected bike lanes are a simple concept with a very meaningful goal: to establish a low-stress, dedicated space for cyclists that is separated from vehicles – reducing vehicle speeds, reducing the number of crashes, and improving the mobility and accessibility of all roadway users.
