Joe Fiordaliso Family Statement on the Passing of Gov. Codey

Joe Fiordaliso, Jr. released the following statement on behalf of the entire Fiordaliso Family on the death of former Governor Richard J. Codey:

“The Fiordaliso Family mourns the passing of a giant today. The longest serving legislator in New Jersey’s history; a steady and calming presence at a time of political uncertainty; a fierce policy advocate for numerous causes; and an old-school politician who could disarm with his charm
and humor.

Our affection and admiration for Governor Codey extends far beyond his public service and legislative accomplishments however. He counted our “Papa Joe” as a confidant and made possible the last great chapter of Dad’s professional life, as Commissioner and then President of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. Dad, Dick and Pete (Cammarano) were a tight-knit posse for so many years and we considered them extended family.

We’re confident that Dad and Dick are sitting around somewhere sharing a good laugh today.

Mom and I, and the entire Fiordaliso Family send our love and condolences to Mary Jo, Kevin and Chris, and the entire Codey family.”
