JULIANO STATEMENT ON HASBROUCK HEIGHTS MAYOR’S ANTI-LGBTQ COMMENTS

HACKENSACK – Democratic Committee of Bergen County Chairman Paul Juliano issued the following statement today:

“Anti-LGBTQ politicians have long hid their bigotry behind innocuous sounding phrases like ‘family values’ in order to discriminate against people simply because of who they are and who they love,” said Juliano. “Jack DeLorenzo’s shameful comments aren’t the values of someone who wants to bring people together, instead they are a loud anti-LGBTQ dog whistle to those who wish to divide our communities. The fact is our communities are strongest when we reject bigotry, stand up to discrimination and treat everyone equally with the respect they deserve. That’s why we must continue to fight for full equality for our friends, families and neighbors in the LGBTQ community.”
