The 2020 election gets closer every day and Republican Thomas Kean Jr. wants to make sure people know he’s running against Democrat Tom Malinowski in District 7.
Kean: RVL Commuters Are One Step Closer to One-Seat Rides to Manhattan

Senate Republican Leader Tom Kean commended the New Jersey General Assembly for passing his legislation that would require NJ Transit to study the restoration of the Raritan Valley Line’s full-time direct rail service to New York Penn Station.

“RVL riders deserve a one-seat ride to New York Penn,” said Kean (R-21). “We’ve succeeded in restoring off-peak, one seat rides, but that doesn’t help the thousands of commuters in my district who are catching the train to work during rush hour each day. This study will help us better serve NJ Transit riders, leading to shorter, smoother and safer commutes.”

Kean’s bipartisan legislation, S-3574/A-5256, calls for a feasibility study on offering Raritan Valley Line customers full-time direct rail service to Manhattan’s New York Penn Station. The Assembly approved the legislation on Monday December 17, 2019.

The Raritan Valley line comprises about 10 percent of NJ Transit’s daily ridership system-wide.
