Latina Civic PAC Announces Endorsement of Phil Murphy and Sheila Oliver for Reelection

Trenton – October 27, 2021 –  New Jersey’s leading organization in increasing Latina representation in government and politics, Latina Civic Political Empowerment Political Action Committee (“Latina Civic PAC”) proudly announces the endorsement of Governor Phil Murphy and Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver for reelection in the 2021 New Jersey gubernatorial election.

Latina Civic PAC is a non-partisan political action committee whose mission is to increase the number of Latinas in elected and appointed offices in the State of New Jersey. The organization promotes and supports progressive leaders who stand up for an agenda that invests in Latina political leadership and advances critical issues that matter to Latinas in New Jersey.

“Governor Phil Murphy and Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver are the leadership the New Jersey Latino community needs,” stated Laura Matos, chair of Latina Civic Pac. “The COVID-19 pandemic has been especially hard on our community, and Governor Murphy and Lieutenant Governor Oliver need to be reelected to continue to help us recover. We feel they are the best choice for leadership in New Jersey for the next four years.”

Throughout his time in office, Governor Murphy has made it a priority to improve the lives of Latino New Jerseyans, including financial aid for DREAMers, driver’s licences for immigrants and taking the lead in ensuring the safety of our front line workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This endorsement is of extreme importance to us,” says Noemi Velazquez, chair of the endorsement committee for Latina Civic PAC. “We MUST ensure that come January, Governor Murphy and Lieutenant Governor Oliver remain in Trenton and continue their efforts for women’s causes, and inclusion of ALL Latinos throughout New Jersey.”
