The Latino-American Democratic Association of New Jersey Endorses Governor Murphy and Lieutenant Governor Oliver for Re-election

NEWARK — The Latino-American Democratic Association of New Jersey (LADA) announced today its endorsement of Governor Phil Murphy and Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver for re-election. LADA recognized Governor Murphy and Lieutenant Governor Oliver for their leadership to meet the challenges of a global pandemic and economic uncertainty, and for fighting for New Jersey’s Latino and immigrant communities.

After last week’s gubernatorial debate, it is clear that Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli will not stand up for Latino and immigrant families. The Assemblyman lied about his stance on driver’s licenses for undocumented individuals, will gut funding for Black and Brown school districts, and he has used Trump-style extremism to divide communities throughout his entire campaign.

“Governor Phil Murphy and Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver will continue to uphold progressive values and reinforce New Jersey as a safe and inclusive state for Latino and immigrant communities,” said LADA President, Erick Martinez. “After Assemblyman Ciattarelli’s lies in the first debate, the choice between the Ciattarelli-Allen and the Murphy-Oliver ticket has never been clearer. Together, we will continue to fight for Latinos in New Jersey and drive out hate.”

“I am grateful to have earned the support of the Latino-American Democratic Association,” said Governor Murphy. “In New Jersey, we wear our diversity as a badge of honor, and we are made stronger by the contributions of our Latino families. I share LADA’s commitment to moving New Jersey forward to ensure that every family, in every community, succeeds.”
