LD 11 Candidate Faison Disappointed in LWV Forum Cancellation
Asbury Park, NJ: Green Party Assembly Candidate Dominique Faison was all ready to bring her message of hope and reform to the voters of the 11th Legislative District this past Tuesday. Monday, she was notified the event was cancelled due to the other candidates withdrawing from the event due to scheduling conflicts.
“I was very disappointed when I received the message,” says Faison. “I was excited to be able to discuss the solutions and ideas I have that are geared to help so many people who need someone to advocate for them.” The Asbury Park resident is appreciative to the voters who submitted their questions for the event, sponsored by the League of Women Voters.
“It’s unfortunate that there wasn’t an alternate event offered,” reflects Faison. “With our world changing by the minute, we need to have more civic involvement from residents and candidates so the public can make the best decision possible on Election Day…we simply don’t have enough opportunities for residents to express their views and hear from all of the candidates.”
The Faison campaign is still working hard to meet voters to discuss Dominique’s plans on tackling issues like homelessness, equal pay, housing discrimination, access to mental health assistance, and gentrification. “We have three and a half weeks until Election Day and there’s still a lot of work to do,” says Faison.
