Trenton Democrats Show Pattern of “Blatant Disregard” for Parents in Policies and Actions
Dnistrian, Piperno, and Eulner will be advocates for Parental Involvement in LD-11
Colts Neck – August 15, 2023 – New Jersey’s Attorney General took three Monmouth County school districts to court this morning to prevent parents from being notified when and if children raise questions or concerns about their own sexual identity while in school settings.
Steve Dnistrian, Republican candidate for State Senate in LD-11, and his running mates, Assemblywomen Marilyn Piperno and Kim Eulner, believe parents matter, and they should ALWAYS be included in discussions about the health and well-being of their own children. They’re calling on Attorney General Matt Platkin to drop the lawsuit before children go back to school in September.
“It’s unbelievable that we’re witnessing the state of New Jersey suing school boards to prevent parents from being included in these crucial conversations,” said Dnistrian, Republican candidate for State Senate in LD-11. “But this is part of a pattern from an administration and political party that have demonstrated a strange, troubling and blatant disregard for parents – as illustrated by this legal attack; by the state Board of Education’s recent vote to advance sexual identity policies with no parental input; and by intentionally keeping parents out of discussions about curriculum. All this has happened while Trenton politicians have cut $85 million in state aid to school districts in Monmouth County, with $70 million of that coming out of our district. Parents need our help and we will fight for them.”
“Our mission should be to help students succeed in school and in life, which includes encouraging a healthy relationship with parents and empowering the role of family,” stated Assemblywoman Marilyn Piperno. “Government’s – particularly unelected bureaucrats in Trenton – only concern should be working for families by ensuring a top notch education and experience for all students.”
“We should be encouraging the collaboration of teachers and parents to work together, not excluding parents from these critical conversations, concluded Assemblywoman Eulner. “We are committed to keeping parents involved and focusing on empowering teachers to deliver a world class education.”
