LD20: Union County Fatherhood Initiative Coalition to Receive $100K
(UNION COUNTY) 一 The Legislative District 20 team of Senator Joseph Cryan, Assemblywoman Annette Quijano and Assemblyman Reginald Atkins announced today that the Union County Fatherhood Initiative has been approved to receive an award from the Community and Cultural program, stemming from the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. The award totals $100,000.
Senator Cryan, Assemblywoman Quijano and Assemblyman Atkins released the following joint statement:
“Following the 10th anniversary of the Fatherhood Initiative’s annual conference, it could not be more appropriate to award funding to an organization that does so much for the community and beyond. By focusing on empowering young men and their children, especially in communities of color, the Union County Fatherhood Initiative encourages
fathers and men to fulfill their potential, while serving as role models for their children.”
This award will provide funds to educate, engage and empower fathers and men in Union County and the immediate vicinity to become more actively engaged in their communities, beginning with their children’s education by developing leadership skills to improve their lives, families and community.
