LEADING POLITICAL ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP APPLAUDS PRESIDENT BIDEN ON DECISION TO REJOIN THE PARIS CLIMATE AGREEMENT

TRENTON – The following statement is from Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, on President Biden’s decision to rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement.

Ed Potosnak was a delegate for Joe Biden at the 2020 Democratic National Convention, and at the time said “the 2020 Presidential election was the most important in recent history, from expanding civil rights, to re-establishing the U.S. as a leader in climate action, to having a COVID recovery plan guided by science and data.”

“The Biden Administration realizes it’s no longer up for discussion, we are facing a climate emergency and they plan to take bold action, which begins with reentering the Paris Climate Agreement. It’s important that the United States join other nations to drastically slash greenhouse gas emissions and co-pollutants,” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey LCV. “We’re also excited that New Jersey has a partner on the federal level, that can join Governor Murphy to advance his ambitious vision to mitigate the climate crisis in New Jersey by achieving 100% clean energy by 2050.”

New Jersey League of Conservation Voters is a non-partisan organization whose mission is to elect environmental champions, hold public officials accountable, and support laws which protect our environment and improve the quality of people’s lives.
