Legislative District 10 Candidate Emma Mammano Endorsed by #VoteProChoice

For Immediate Release: Brick, NJ  June 3, 2021

Emma Mammano, Democratic candidate for State Senate in New Jersey’s Legislative District 10, has been endorsed by the organization #VoteProChoice. #VoteProChoice is a national political project and technology platform that connects the nation’s pro-choice majority voters with prochoice champion candidates in every election.

“As states such as Texas pass harmful, restrictive abortion laws, it is more important than ever that we here in New Jersey continue to protect and enhance women’s acces to reproductive healthcare. For me, the bodily autonomy of our women and girls is non-negotiable.  That’s why I will push my party leadership to pass the Reproductive Freedom Act, to ensure all women, regardless of income level and ethnicity, have access to high-quality care,” says Mammano.

A recent poll has shown that 72% of New Jerseyans agree that it’s time for New Jersey to take action with the Reproductive Freedom Act to protect access to care.  Moreover, 87% of New Jerseyans believe decisions about abortion should be made by pregnant people in consultation with their medical providers. Mammano says, “It’s well past time to dispel the myth that women take decisions about their reproductive health lightly.  No one can know the burdens and challenges each individual woman faces when choosing whether or not to have an abortion.  Restriciting access to abortion doesn’t stop them from happening, it ony creates more harm and suffering for women, especially those from marginalized and low-income groups. As your Senator in Legislative District 10, I pledge to fight for the reproductive freedom of all New Jerseyans.”
