LGBTQ Democrats Running for Legislature in Unprecedented Number

In the November 2023 General Election, voters in 4 New Jersey Legislative Districts will have the privilege of voting for LGBTQ Candidates- 11, 12, 13 and 25. “LGBTQ Representation is an ongoing and frustrating challenge in politics- not just in New Jersey, but in every state. We’re 6-12% of the population and nowhere near 6-12% of your elected or appointed leadership, a fact we’re looking to remedy at all times,” said Lauren Albrecht, Chairwoman of the NJ DSC’s LGBTQ Caucus. “But this is a great step in the right direction- the first time that 4 openly-LGBTQ Candidates will be on the ballot for Assembly seats in New Jersey at one time. We’re looking forward to organizing behind these Candidates and pushing representation forward.”
