Lopez Statement on the Passing of Middlesex County Freeholder Blanquita Valenti

(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Yvonne Lopez released the following statement on the passing of former Middlesex County Freeholder Blanquita Valenti:

“Today is a somber day in Middlesex County as we mourn the passing of Blanquita Valenti. Blanquita was a trailblazer and a woman of many firsts as she made history as the first Latina to win a countywide election in Middlesex and the first Latina to serve on the New Brunswick City Council.

“Blanquita’s legacy as an elected official will endure as she embodied what all elected officials aspire to be. She was thoughtful, compassionate, and above all else community-minded. Blanquita worked tirelessly every day on behalf of the residents of Middlesex County and her voice will certainly be missed. She will continue to inspire me, and I am forever grateful for her friendship and service.”

“My thoughts and prayers are with the Valenti family during this difficult time.”
