ICYMI: Lt. Governor and Secretary of State Tahesha Way Launches Congressional Bid for NJ-11 Backed by CBCPAC, Passaic County Democrats, and More
WAYNE, NJ – Last week, Lt. Governor and Secretary of State Tahesha Way officially kicked off her campaign to represent New Jersey’s Eleventh Congressional District. Tahesha’s candidacy has been endorsed by the Congressional Black Caucus PAC, the Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association, the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State, the family of Sheila Oliver, and Passaic County Democrats.
At a campaign launch party at Empire of the Performing Arts, a woman-owned small business in Wayne Township this weekend, Tahesha fired up friends, family, Wayne leaders, volunteers, and supporters and shared her bold vision to lower costs for New Jersey families and stand up to Trump's attacks in Congress.
"The outpouring of support we've received from across the district has been incredible. Throughout my life – from surviving a brain hemorrhage at 19 to serving New Jersey families at every level of government – I've learned to stand up and fight when it matters most," said Tahesha Way. "Right now, families face skyrocketing costs on health care, groceries, and housing while MAGA Republicans push disastrous tariffs and attack our Constitutional freedoms. In Congress, I'll fight to bring down costs for working families, defend our fundamental rights and freedoms, and stand up to Trump and his allies – because New Jerseyans deserve leaders who won't back down from the fights that matter most."
