West Windsor, NJ – August 18, 2025 – Mayor Hemant Marathe and Township Council Member Linda Geevers announced today that they will be running together for re-election in the November 2025 West Windsor municipal election. The duo, who have worked collaboratively over their past term for important initiatives and community progress, are pledging to continue their proven leadership for another term. They are excited to be joined by Joe Charles, a 17-year West Windsor resident who will run for council.
“We are proud of our accomplishments,” said Mayor Marathe. “From responsibly managing state-mandated residential growth and supporting local businesses to maintaining a fiscally responsible budget with minimal municipal tax increases, our teamwork has made a real difference. We’re asking the voters of West Windsor for their support to continue building on this momentum.”
Council Vice President Linda Geevers added, “I value our residents’ input and strive to collaboratively work with all to make West Windsor a vibrant, sustainable, and welcoming community. Together with Mayor Marathe and Joe, we will continue to accomplish priorities including police/fire/EMS needs, bicycle and pedestrian safety, roadway infrastructure improvements and mitigation of flooding impacts.”
Joe Charles noted, “I am honored by the opportunity to join Hemant and Linda to serve our town. I believe my decades of experience in accounting/finance and as a leader of people will be an asset to our council. I take a common-sense approach to analyzing issues and independently forming my own views. I am committed to always doing what I believe is best for West Windsor in the long-term.”
Candidate Bios
Hemant Marathe is Mayor since 2018, and previously was a Council member since 2015. He previously served on the West Windsor Plainsboro Board of education for 12 years (2001-13), with 9 as president (2004-13). He has been very active in the community for decades, and is a member of the West Windsor Arts Council, West Windsor Bicycle and Pedestrian Alliance, Friends of West Windsor Open Space, and the West Windsor Lions Club. Hemant and his wife are 31-year residents of West Windsor, with four daughters educated in the West Windsor-Plainsboro (WWP) school system.
Linda Geevers has been a member of the Council since 2005, including several years as President and Vice President. She also served on the West Windsor Planning Board for nine years. Linda was previously elected twice (1999-2005) to the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional Board of Education and held many leadership roles. As an active community member, Linda currently serves as a Fire Police Officer with the West Windsor Volunteer Fire Co. #1 and on the Board of Directors of the West Windsor Lions Club. Linda and her husband have been residents for 30 years. Their three children were educated K-12 in the WW-P School District.
Joe Charles is a CPA with 29 years of practical business experience in the world of accounting and finance, where he leads teams of people on a daily basis. He has served on the boards of several not-for-profit organizations, and has volunteered as a coach/assistant coach for local youth sports. As the Vice-Chair of Keep West Windsor NonPartisan (“Vote No”), he passionately and successfully advocated for keeping partisan politics out of West Windsor. Joe and his wife are 17-year residents, with 2 children currently in the WWP school system.
