MAYOR ANDRE SAYEGH’S GUARANTEED INCOME INITIATIVE RECEIVES A BIG BOOST

Jack Dorsey, Twitter CEO, is donating to the effort.

On September 16, Mayor Andre Sayegh announced that Paterson would participate in the Mayors for Guaranteed Income initiative. Mayor Sayegh quickly created a working committee comprised of residents, employees, and activists to help pave the way for the aforementioned pilot program which would provide direct cash assistance to participants in the program. Mayor Sayegh also stated in his announcement that he would engage philanthropists to financially support the endeavor.

Jack Dorsey, Twitter CEO, has just pledged $15 million to all of the cities participating in the Mayors for Guaranteed Income initiative which includes Paterson. Mayor Andre Sayegh would like to thank Mr. Dorsey for his generous donation which will provide the path for the program to go forward.
