Mayor Chung, Running Mate Kim, File to Run in Palisades Park

Mayor Chris Chung formally filed for re-election today alongside Council running mate Paul Kim.

“I look forward to a spirited campaign and the opportunity to connect with our voters.  It’s been a tough three years but we have shown resiliency and have made significant progress as a community.”

Chris Chung will be joined by Planning Board member Paul Kim and Board of Education member Anieska Garcia.  Anieska is honored to be able to represent a population that is underrepresented in Palisades Park and bring diversity to the council.

“Chris Chung is not a politician.  He is a leader who fights for change and not afraid to do what he thinks its right.  That is why I am supporting him and running alongside him for Council.”

If elected, Paul Kim will be the youngest council member in the history of Palisades Park.  His contagious energy and passion is unparalleled as he seeks to represent his peers who have often felt disengaged with the town’s governance.

“Mayor Chung and I were told by the local democratic committee that we should not lead this town because we don’t think like, talk like or look like them.  I was shocked but instantly recognized the absolute need for Mayor Chung to have a strong team that, like him, represents the people with integrity even in the face of political bullying.  Mayor Chung, Anieska and I will represent Palisades Park the way it deserves to be.”
