McIver Statement on Primary Election Win

NEWARK, NJ – Today, Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ-10) won the primary election for the seat she presently holds in Congress. McIver released the following statement:

“I will always fight to protect my community and I am grateful for the trust they have once again placed in me to keep being their voice in Washington. I am ready for November and will keep taking on the big fights—from putting money back into my residents’ pockets and introducing bills to make life better for our district to fighting for our rights and fighting Donald Trump in court,” said McIver. “These times are hard and it’s been an uphill battle against an administration that wants us scared and silent. But I love the 10th and I do this for us. I am humbled to have the confidence of the voters and to keep working for them every day.”

McIver first won the NJ-10 seat in September of 2024 after an 11-way primary race and a general election. In less than one full term, she has already brought millions of federal dollars back to the district for community projects, and has continued to stand up for her constituents against Donald Trump’s attacks and his rogue Department of Homeland Security. All this in spite of the administration’s ongoing efforts to imprison her for up to 17 years.
