MICHELLE PIRONE LAMBROS RECEIVES MAJOR BUSINESS ENDORSEMENTS
PRINCETON, NJ (May 9, 2019)—Hamilton Jewelers, The Hillier Group, and the Terra Momo Restaurant Group, among others, publicly endorsed Michelle Pirone Lambros’ bid for Princeton Council this week.
“We support Michelle Pirone Lambros because she is the only candidate who reaches out to the business community and is actively working to address our needs and solve the problems we face,” the coalition said in a letter to the community published by the Town Topics.
Recent Council decisions to implement new meter rates without the business community’s input had a devastating effect on revenues, especially during the Christmas season, when some retailers saw losses as high as 20%.
Citing increased competition from big box stores and the Internet, the letter continued, “[Michelle] sees the importance of the business sector and has concrete ideas for how to solve the myriad issues we face.”
As a member of the Economic Development Committee, Pirone Lambros has led the effort to reduce meter fees, and advocates for a more streamlined approach to helping new businesses open and stay open. This includes reduces the byzantine zoning requirements have hobbled the town’s small businesses.
“I am extremely honored to have the endorsement of Bob Hiller, Hank Siegel, John Procaccini, and the Momo brothers. They are pillars of the community and well-respected business leaders. The support of our new entrepreneurs like Anthony Kanterakis of Local Greek, Joy Chen of Joy Cards, Ellen Kogan of Tranquility Den, and Beth Censits of Princeton Consignments, feels like a vote of confidence that my ideas really resonate with the needs of today’s commercial sector, which is the backbone of our local economy.”
Other signatories of the letter include: Mark Tamasi of Tamasi Shell, Josh Zinder of JZA+D, and James Herring of Herring Properties.
The Democratic Primary is Tuesday, June 4th.
