The Monmouth County Democrats announced today the appointment of Dr. Michael Penna , PhD, of Monmouth County to lead their existing LGBTQ Caucus. Dr. Penna will replace outgoing Chairwoman Lauren Albrecht, who recently resigned this role to place greater focus on her concurrent role as NJ DSC LGBTQ Caucus Chair, in which she will continue to serve. “I’m proud of the work this organization has done and the size and influence to which we’ve grown in the last 7 years, and I know that Michael will continue our mission of supporting LGBTQ Democratic candidates in Monmouth County and bringing our voice to the table.” Chairman David Brown noted, “Michael has shown his competence and dedication to our organization over the last few years in his willingness to put himself forward to run for County Commissioner and his participation in the Monmouth County Young Democrats organization. We look forward to working with Michael.”
