Morris County Democrats Elect New Executive Board

CHESTER- On Tuesday evening, 250+ county committee members, candidates and guests representing thirty-three municipalities gathered for the 2021 Reorganization Meeting of the Morris County Democratic Committee. Chairman Chip Robinson ran for another term as Chair. He has been Chair the last seven years. Speaking to the audience, the Chairman noted, “I’m very pleased with the progress that we have made over the last several years in the county.  We have more than doubled our number of Morris County Democratic elected officials from 32 to nearly 70. We have 12 Democratic Mayors, the highest in a number of decades.” The crowd unanimously support the reelection of Chairman Robinson and the entire slate. New Vice Chair of the executive board, Robin Gurin, addresses the crowd saying “The work starts now.  We must build on the progress we have made and continue to build an even stronger organization and raise even more money to win legislative and county offices and to build on the municipal progress that has been made with the help of everyone here.”

The 2021 executive board of the Morris County Democratic Committee is:

Chip Robinson, Lincoln Park, Chairperson

Robin Gurin, Washington Township, Vice Chair

Scott Carlson, Parsippany, Executive Director

Austin Ashley, Mountain Lakes, Treasurer

John Aden, Florham Park, Secretary

Leslye Moya, the recently elected Sergeant At Arms who presently serves as Political Director of the MCDC and Secretary of the Young Democrats of Morris County, will be leaving her post this month at the MCDC to join the Governor Murphy reelection team as Regional Political Director covering Morris and Passaic Counties.

Closing his remarks out, Chairman Robinson thanked previous executive board members Lisa Bhimani, Thad Kobylarz and Heather Champagne for their service over these last few years and added “I want to thank everyone here tonight again for the support and trust you have given me to lead this organization through the craziness of the Trump era and the worst pandemic in 100 years. It’s time to get to work.”
