SURROGATE RELEASES FIRST EVER ANNUAL REPORT

Morristown, NJ – Morris County Surrogate Heather Darling is proud to announce that she has
released the first ever Morris County Surrogate’s Office Annual Report.
This Annual Report is being introduced as part of Surrogate Darling’s
promise to inform the citizens of Morris County of the functions and
performance of the Surrogate’s Office. The 2020 Annual Report outlines
the work undertaken by the Morris County Surrogate’s Office, including
significant modernization during very difficult times in 2020.
“I am proud to report the Morris County Surrogate’s Office stayed open
throughout the shut-down. My team courageously came in everyday
and worked diligently and we changed the way we do business in response to the pandemic with
our new online platform,” said Surrogate Darling.
This annual report highlights key accomplishments for the past year including new initiatives
and financial results which defray County taxes. In 2021 the Surrogate will focus efforts on
continuous improvements in customer service by streamlining processes to serve Morris County
with the highest level of customer service.
Darling went on to say that “it remains my goal to make our office a well-known resource for the
individuals we serve and is part of our community outreach efforts to help Morris County
residents understand this office in addition to the importance of proper estate planning.
