NBC NEWS ANCHOR AND AUTHOR JEN MAXFIELD TO KEYNOTE CIANJ ANNUAL LUNCHEON
Rochelle Park, NJ (October 25, 2022) – “CIANJ is excited to have Jen Maxfield of NBC News New York keynote our Annual Luncheon. We have all experienced the diminishing role the traditional press has played in recent years when covering local and state news. With the explosive rise in internet-based social and hyper-local news platforms, the way America absorbs news has changed” said Anthony Russo, President of CIANJ. “Jen will share her views on the subject matter and also give attendees an insider’s look into the role of the press and share her personal journey and the ten unforgettable news stories she covers in her book”.
Jen Maxfield is an Emmy-award winning reporter and anchor for NBC New York. In addition to being a journalist, she is an adjunct professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, teaching courses in broadcast journalism including Video 1 and On-Air skills. Maxfield’s first book, More After the Break: A Reporter Returns to Ten Unforgettable News Stories, was released on July 12, 2022. The book was an instant Amazon bestseller the day it was announced for preorders online.
The state of local media news reporting will be Jen’s topic when she keynotes the 95th Annual Meeting and luncheon of the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey. The event, to take place at the Meadowlands Hilton in East Rutherford, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on October 28, and is expected to draw 400-plus business owners, as well as political officials from local, regional, and state offices. Seating for the event is limited, and details may be obtained by visiting the CIANJ website: https://web.cianj.org/events/CIANJs95th%20Annual%20Meeting%20%20Luncheon-993/details
