Neptune Republicans Cite Democratic Mismanagement as Unnecessary Tax Hikes as “The Neptune Team” is announced.

Neptune, NJ: Every election cycle, voters hear how important that particular election is. For November 2021, the Neptune Township Republican Organization is stressing the need for change on the all-Democratic controlled Council.

On Wednesday night, the Neptune GOP is proud to announce it has completed the search and is confident with the ticket as Kevin Sheehan, Gary Moll, and Shannon Kelly will appear on the ballot. The Republican ticket, The Neptune Team, is looking to make gains this November as three out of five seats are on the ballot, with one being used to fill an unexpired term.

“The mismanagement of this unchecked-Council has created an environment for tax increases and diminished quality of life,” says Kevin Sheehan, Chairman of the Neptune Township Republican Organization and Republican Council Candidate. “This is the year to deliver accountability to this Council and restore the voice of Neptune Township residents”.

Fellow candidate, Gary Moll, also believes the current Council’s actions have put Neptune’s future in the crosshairs. “The Council has mismanaged the town so much they have brought on numerous lawsuits that have done nothing more than cost the taxpayers money in running legal fees and settlement payouts,” explains Moll. “The Council’s negative actions have displayed the need for change…NOW”.

The Neptune Team’s third candidate is political newcomer Shannon Kelly, who cites the lack of transparency as one of her motivations for running. “The lack of transparency in the current governing body is deeply concerning,” declares Kelly. “Citizens hear about the $2.6 million in federal COVID-relief money coming here and we have yet to understand what the funds are going to be used for.” Kelly is also looking to bring “total representation” to the Council as she cites some parts of the Township feel simply ignored by the current governing body.

The Republican ticket is running to restore the public trust in the system and bring solid management skills to the Township Council. “Right now, we are watching another episode of ‘what are they up to today at Town Hall’” says Sheehan. “That is not the way the government is supposed to operate.” Sheehan continued to say it is simply time for “A New Direction”.
