Neptune Township Republicans: “This Election Year is a Change Year”.

Neptune, NJ: The Neptune Township Republican Committee ticket has a message to share with its town, district, and state ahead of this November’s election.
Neptune Township, which is in the Eleventh Legislative District, sees itself being completely represented by Democrats on the town and state levels. The Neptune GOP, running as “The Neptune Team”, is making the argument that such a level of unchecked governance is problematic and doesn’t represent the people.
“Here in Neptune Township, the all-Democratic Committee has completely mismanaged the town,” says Committee Candidate Kevin Sheehan. “We’ve seen lawsuit after lawsuit, the rainy day fund being depleted…all with no check or balance stopping them.” Joining Sheehan on the ticket are Gary Moll and political newcomer Shannon Kelly. All three GOP candidates have either small business ownership or management experience they feel will be a benefit to counter the unchecked Democratic grip on the Township Committee.
“There are parts of town that are seeing over a ten-percent tax increase,” says Kelly. “You can’t simply think you can tax your way out of budget situations every year.” Kelly, the Vice President of Lacrosse Unlimited, would like to see more of a pro-growth financial mindset in Town Hall, as well as a sustainable plan to replenish the town’s rainy day fund to be used in actual emergencies. “Mismanagement is a problem, not a natural emergency,” says Kelly. “It’s time to manage the town’s finances like a family would…plan, budget, build up the emergency savings only to be used when absolutely necessary.”
“The Neptune Team” contends there is a cultural problem with unchecked government like this. “There is little if any transparency,” says Gary Moll, citing the all-Democratic controlled Committee not disclosing where federal COVID-relief is going and the Democratic-controlled state legislature passing a budget within minutes of it being introduced on the floor. “It’s legislative arrogance…they are not serving the people…they are serving their party bosses and their agendas.”
“Let’s be clear about this…the all-Democratic Committee is raising our taxes in town and the Democratically-controlled Statehouse is slashing school aid by another $4.5 million this year,” says Sheehan. “The people have had enough of being the ATM machine for failed Democratic financial policies…the time for ‘A New Direction’ is now.”
