New Ephesus Baptist Church and NECSC Announce Thanksgiving Dinner Pop-Up for East Orange Seniors

East Orange, NJ — New Ephesus Baptist Church Women’s Fellowship and the New Ephesus Community Services Corp. (NECSC) are proud to announce their annual Thanksgiving Dinner Pop-Up, dedicated to serving seniors and residents throughout East Orange and nearby communities. This year’s meal distribution will take place on November 24, 2025, with deliveries beginning at 12:00 PM.
The Thanksgiving Dinner Pop-Up reflects the organizations’ shared mission: Doing Together What Cannot Be Done Alone. Volunteers and community partners will work together to deliver freshly prepared Thanksgiving meals — complete with traditional holiday dishes — directly to seniors who may otherwise face challenges accessing nutritious meals during the holiday season.
The event will be held at:
175 Brookwood Street
East Orange, NJ
The initiative is spearheaded by Rev. J. Vincent Grove, Pastor and NECSC Founder/Chairman, along with Bishop Andre Speight, NECSC Executive Director, and Gwendolyn Johns, President of the Women’s Fellowship. Their commitment to service continues to strengthen the bonds of community, compassion, and care throughout East Orange.
This year’s Thanksgiving Dinner Pop-Up underscores the importance of unity and collective action, especially during the holiday season. By delivering meals directly to seniors’ homes, the organizers aim to ensure that no one is left behind or forgotten during this time of gratitude.
“At New Ephesus Baptist Church, we believe hope is most powerful when it is shared. This Thanksgiving, our mission is simple—make sure no family in East Orange or Newark goes without a good meal and a reminder that they are loved. Serving over 500 with both cooked meals and turkeys and fixings residents is not just an outreach effort; it is an act of faith, compassion, and community. We are grateful for the opportunity to be a blessing during a season that calls us to give thanks and to give back.” - Rev. J. Vincent Grove, Senior Pastor
