NEW JERSEY AMERICAN WATER PRESIDENT CHERYL NORTON, STATEMENT ON NJ ECONOMIC ADVISORY COUNCIL’S RECOMMENDATIONS FOR INCREASED INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENTS
“The New Jersey Economic Advisory Council’s Report highlights the vital importance that infrastructure plays in our ongoing economic recovery efforts following COVID-19. The report lists infrastructure investment as the #1 recommendation for our state’s economic recovery. We could not agree more.
“At New Jersey American Water, we have been working continuously to strategize how we can help New Jersey families and the economy recover from COVID-19. With the Council’s Report emphasizing the importance of infrastructure investment, we remain eager as ever to begin implementation of our proposed Solutions Today and Reinvesting Tomorrow (START) program, which can help New Jersey create or sustain thousands of jobs.
“We created START specifically with the goal of it being part of New Jersey’s economic recovery from COVID-19. START would speed up investments in water and wastewater systems, support the continued provision of essential water and wastewater services during this critical time, and substantially increase sustainable, well-paying jobs for thousands of New Jerseyans.
“We thank the Council for recognizing the pivotal role that infrastructure plays in creating a stronger and more resilient New Jersey.”
