NEW JERSEY LCV APPLAUDS BIDEN ADMINISTRATION FOR 30X30 REPORT AND COMMITMENT TO PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT

TRENTON – The following statement is from Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, commending the Biden-Harris Administration for their commitment to environmental conservation with publication of the “Conserving and Restoring the America the Beautiful 2021Report.”

“President Biden’s commitment to conserve at least 30% of U.S. lands and ocean by 2030 as outlined in this report, is an ambitious and necessary goal. According to scientists, protecting 30% is the bare minimum needed to save nature and buffer against the worst impacts of climate change,” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey League of Conservation Voters. “We also support State Senator Kip Bateman’s proposed legislation to provide a local response to this international crisis, by setting a goal to preserve 30% of New Jersey’s land and coastal areas. If enacted, we would become the first state in the northeast to pass such a measure, cementing our status as a conservation leader in the 21st century.”

New Jersey League of Conservation Voters is a non-partisan organization whose mission is to elect environmental champions, hold public officials accountable, and support laws which protect our environment and improve the quality of people’s lives.
