NEW JERSEY LCV APPLAUDS GOVERNOR MURPHY ON MAJOR MOVE TOWARD GREEN ECONOMY
TRENTON – The following statement is from Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, congratulating Governor Murphy on his announcement today regarding investments from the Volkswagen Settlement Fund and RGGI and the establishment of a “New Jersey Council on the Green Economy.”
“Governor Murphy’s announcement today gets us one step closer to realizing the 21st century sustainable green jobs economy that most New Jerseyans say they want – and the future that we and our partners have been calling for,” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey LCV. “To tie this all together, the New Jersey Council on the Green Economy is a terrific idea that can help generate good local union jobs that cannot be outsourced. These jobs will provide a living wage to sustain our middle-class and help to create a prosperous future for all New Jerseyans, especially those that have been left behind in our Black and Brown communities and have borne the toxic legacy of our fossil fueled economy.”
New Jersey League of Conservation Voters is a non-partisan organization whose mission is to elect environmental champions, hold public officials accountable, and support laws which protect our environment and improve the quality of people’s lives.
