NEW JERSEY LCV APPLAUDS SENATE JUDICIARY ACTION ON PINELANDS NOMINEES, CALLS FOR FINAL CONFIRMATION BY FULL SENATE

TRENTON – New Jersey League of Conservation Voters Executive Director Ed Potosnak issued the following statement regarding the Senate Judiciary Committee’s approval of three new commissioners for the Pinelands Commission:

We are pleased that the Senate Judiciary Committee today advanced a slate of three strong nominations to sit on the Pinelands Commission: Theresa Lettman, Davon McCurry and Laura Matos.

These nominees will bring vitality and expertise to the Pinelands Commission, while helping to restore proper functioning to a body responsible for protecting one of New Jersey’s most valuable environmental treasures.

We call on the full Senate to approve these nominees’ confirmations at its final voting session Monday and look forward to working with Governor Murphy and Senate leaders next session to bring the Pinelands Commission back to full strength and reinforce its status as a bulwark of environmental protection.
