New Jersey Republicans Won’t Say Trump Lost — Do They Support Him Running in 2024 Too?

TRENTON, NJ — With top New Jersey Republican leaders continuing to threaten the very fabric of our democracy by not publicly acknowledging the Biden-Harris victory now five weeks after Election Day, it begs a simple question — will they support Trump’s rumored 2024 campaign? They wouldn’t be alone, as Republicans in Washington have already started cheerleading for another Trump run, once again showing their party’s total fealty to the most corrupt President in history.

“Doug Steinhardt, Jack Ciattarelli, Tom Kean, Jr., Chris Smith, and Jeff Van Drew have all refused to acknowledge the reality of the 2020 election, but going on record in support of another run for the presidency by Donald Trump would cement their status as total Trump lackeys without a single hint of independence from the President’s corruption, recklessness, and failure,” said NJDSC Executive Director Saily Avelenda. “They all supported Donald Trump after his failures on facing up to the COVID-19 crisis, after he embraced white supremacists, after he abused his office for personal gain, and even now as he threatens to undermine our nation’s most basic ideal in the peaceful transition of power. In this precarious time in our history with our democracy under attack, we need to know where the leaders of the New Jersey Republican Party stand.”
