New Jersey State AFL-CIO congratulates Pallone on House Energy and Commerce chairmanship

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO congratulates Rep. Frank Pallone, D-6th District, on being unanimously elected chairman of the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee for the 117th Congress. He continues in this important role, to which he was first elected in the last Congress.

“Congressman Pallone has served New Jersey and our nation with distinction throughout his career,” New Jersey State AFL-CIO President Charles Wowkanech said. “Every working family in our state has benefited from his work to keep health care accessible and affordable, consumer products safe, and drinking water clean, among his many quality-of-life initiatives.

“We were proud to endorse him for re-election to Congress this year,” President Wowkanech continued, “and we look forward to working with him as the Biden administration takes office.”

The Energy and Commerce Committee was established in 1795 to regulate interstate and foreign commerce and is the oldest continuous standing committee in the U.S. House of Representatives.

In Unity,

Charles Wowkanech
President
