New Jersey Working Families Party announces 2022 endorsements

Carl Golden, senior contributing analyst with the William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy at Stockton University, argues that despite continual mass shooting incidents in the U.S., gun rights absolutists will win Congress once more, and either no or purely cosmetic action will take place.

The New Jersey Working Families Party has announced the endorsement of a strong slate of candidates for next month’s election.

The candidates Working Families have endorsed are committed to advancing key progressive priorities in Congress, municipal government and in school boards.

“As we approach critical midterm elections, it is essential that we have progressive champions at all levels of government willing to protect our democracy against radical MAGA Republicans,” said New Jersey Working Families State Director Sue Altman. “The candidates we have endorsed will advance the needs of working families over powerful corporate interests, and we’re going to fight hard to get them elected.”

“We are proud to have managed a rigorous endorsement process that identified qualified candidates at every level of government,” said Fran Ehret, New Jersey State Director of the Communications Workers of America and a Working Families board member. “While much attention has been rightly focused on high-profile congressional races, we’re also particularly proud to be supporting candidates for local government and school board who will advance progressive policies in the communities they live in.”
