New Jersey Working Families Party Hires Antoinette Miles As New Political Director

Camden, NJ: The New Jersey Working Families is proud to announce that Antoinette Miles has joined the team as the new Political Director. Miles is an accomplished organizer with experience in electoral campaigns, digital communications, and public service in New Jersey. She most recently served as the Outreach Director for U.S. Representative Andy Kim, where she built relationships with community stakeholders.

“We are proud to welcome Antoinette Miles to the Working Families Party,” said Maurice Mitchell, National Director of WFP.  “Antoinette is a passionate organizer who reflects the type of party we’re trying to build in New Jersey and nationwide.”

“I am incredibly excited to welcome Antoinette to WFP to help us reshape New Jersey politics,” said Sue Altman, New Jersey Working Families Party Director. “As we take on difficult fights, including those to strengthen and protect our democracy and build a political power across the state, we are glad to be able to lean on her political and organizing expertise to help us win in campaigns small and large across New Jersey.”

Prior to that role, Antoinette worked as a Digital Media Associate for Communications Workers of America, District 1 where she played an integral role in telling workers’ stories and helping union members build workplace and political power. Throughout her nearly ten years in New Jersey politics, Antoinette’s work has been rooted in her community and creating lasting communal change.

“Antoinette Miles is a brilliant political messenger and leader. The Working Families Party is the perfect place for her to shine like the star she is. The combination of Sue Altman, Antoinette Miles, and Arati Kreibich is a progressive power dream team. I almost feel sorry for the Machines. (Well, not really.)” said Hetty Rosenstein, Organizing Director for CWA District 1.

Antoinette is an alum of Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. She served on the planning committees for the 2019 Atlantic City Women’s March and the 2021 Women’s March in Willingboro. In 2021, she was named a “Woman Who Gets it Done” by PAM’s List and is a proud member of the Willingboro Vicinity Branch of the NAACP. She currently calls Pennsauken home, where she enjoys being a plant mom to her growing indoor plant collection.

“I have worked with Antoinette for years in different capacities. There are few people more dedicated and prepared for the fight we have ahead of us,” said Chris Estevez, Director of the Latino Action Network.

“Antoinette comes from a Labor background and understands the fight for democracy and worker power that is crucial in this moment,” said Elena Lavarreda, Political Director of SEIU 32BJ.
