New Jersey Young Democrats Black Caucus thank Assemblyman Jerry Green for his years of service and leadership as Union County Democratic Chairman

New Jersey Young Democrats Black Caucus thank Assemblyman Jerry Green for his years of service and leadership as Union County Democratic Chairman.

This week, Plainfield’s own Assemblyman Jerry Green (D-22) resigned as Chairman of the Union County Democratic Committee (UCDC).

First elected in 2013, Green chose to invest more of UCDC’s resources and energy into rebuilding the party in as many communities as possible in Union County.  During his chairmanship, Democrats not only preserved their record of winning in key diverse towns like Plainfield, Roselle, and Elizabeth, but also scored large wins in Scotch Plains, Garwood, Cranford, Springfield, Roselle Park, and Kenilworth; along with recent historic wins in Summit, Westfield, and Berkeley Heights.

In addition, Green put considerable effort into putting Union County at the forefront politically in New Jersey.  For example, the establishment of the Union County Young Democrats, under Green’s guidance, has been one of the leading Young Dems organizations in New Jersey. During its growth, Green has supported issues important to all millennials in Union County.

Chairman Green’s leadership over the years will serve as a guide for Young Democrats to follow in the future. Chairman Green has been an inspiration and a true testament of service and dedication to all those in need.
