New Leaders Council Hosts 2023 Fellows Fundraiser for Class of Up-and-coming Leaders Selected for Premier Training Institute

New Leaders Council New Jersey (NLC-NJ) will hold its annual Fellows Fundraiser in Asbury Park at Watermark on Wednesday, June 7 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm, the day after the New Jersey Primary.  The fundraiser will feature special guest speaker State Senator Vin Gopal and will raise money to support the 2023 class of up-and-coming leaders. NLC-NJ is the statewide chapter of the nation’s largest organization that develops, connects, and uplifts inclusive, cross-sector leaders who transform our country through social and political change.

“On behalf of our Board of Directors and our incredible network of more than 240 alumni, I am excited for our class of 2023 Fellows to come together to raise money for a common cause – building the bench of progressive leadership,” said Mayrose Wegmann, Statewide Director of New Leaders Council – New Jersey and Northwest Region Director at New Jersey Education Association (NJEA). “Furthermore, I am incredibly proud of the work our Fellows have done over the last six months to learn about leadership, fundraising, and organizing to build power for our justice-centered movement.”

“I am proud to stand with NLC and support their growing network of changemakers.  Their work continues to build leaders in every county and municipality across the garden state,” said Senator Vin Gopal. “As our state is changing, it is important to uplift pathways to leadership.  NLC is responsible for bold and visionary leaders, thinkers, and doers.  I look forward to partnering with them as we make change in our great state.”

NLC-NJ was founded in 2011 by Justin Braz, Chief of Staff and Assistant Commissioner for Transportation Policy at New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) and Jackie Cornell, Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey.
