EAST ORANGE MAYOR WELCOMES UCS STAFF NOW SERVING FAMILIES IN EAST ORANGE WITH QUALITY CARE THROUGH INTERFAITH INITIATIVE

East Orange, New Jersey  – Urgent Care Walk-in Medical Suite, (UCS) has opened  opened its newest community-based medical center on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 as part of an interfaith pilot model to help  alleviate emergency room wait times and expand critical urgent care services.

East Orange Mayor Ted Green was among the leaders and interfaith clergy attending the ribbon cutting ceremony which marked the opening of the neighborhood UCS, which provides a broad range of primary care and urgent care service. Hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., as well as COVID-19 testing, vaccinations required for traveling amid the reopening stages of the 2021 pandemic.

“We are so proud to have a new urgent care facility in East Orange to offer faster services and ease the demand on our public hospital emergency rooms during this time,” said East Orange Mayor Ted Green. “Our communities are better served when our public health system has urgent care centers to effectively to improve our public healthcare system.”

“We are thrilled to open our doors to the East Orange community,” said Dr. Nadine Williams, APN & DNP at Urgent Care Walk-In Medical Suite, located at 200 Freeway Drive, Suite 305 in East Orange, NJ. “Everything about our model of care and our center is focused on our patients and urgent care.”

“People can walk in, meet out professional and friendly team and receive quality and timely professional medical care,” said Dr. Williams. “More than ever we recognize our role as communities struggle to safely resume daily life amid the pandemic.”

As communities struggle to safely to resume daily life amid the pandemic, former New Jersey Governor James E. McGreevey said he is hopeful the new interfaith initiatives and opening of the Urgent Care Walk-In Medical Suite will help impact the community and the most vulnerable residents.

“COVID has reaffirmed the importance of access to diagnostic tests, to immediate medicine, and to appropriate clinical settings for health care,” said McGreevey. “For the persons we are privileged to serve, those returning from prison, from jail, from addiction treatment, Urgent Care will provide quick, accessible services that are connected to Medicaid and Affordable Care Act health benefit programs.

“Health care is only meaningful if it is accessible, affordable, and accountable,” said McGreevey, chairman of the New Jersey Re-entry Corporation. “Urgent Care provides these medical services with consistency and reliability.”

(UCS) also offers a unique variety of services for walk-in patients focused on the delivery of ambulatory care in a clean and socially distanced medical facility outside of a traditional emergency room (ER). UCS treats injuries or illnesses requiring immediate care, but not serious enough to require an ER visit.

“Providing health care to the poor and to those in need is a blessing,” said Reverend Bolivar Flores, Vice President of the New Jersey Coalition of Latino Pastors and Ministers. “For so many, whether young or old, families or solitary individuals, they have lacked adequate health care. Urgent Care will alleviate much suffering and provide for basic emergency health care services.”

With the overcrowding placed on area hospitals throughout the COVID 19 pandemic, the Urgent Care Walk-in Medical Suite (UCS) staff is devoted to eliminating nonemergent cases from emergency rooms, leaving ER doctors free to focus on critical cases. UCS welcomes the opportunity to develop urgent care platforms and partner with area hospitals to improve the delivery of healthcare services.

UCS will treat injuries or illnesses requiring immediate care, but not critically patients needing an Emergency Room visit. For more information, visit urgentcaresuite.com or call 973-310-2000. The facility is open daily 10:00 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
