NJ 31st Legislative District Primary is Crucial

Dear Editor,

As the June Democratic Primary is approaching, I am urging voters to ensure they exercise their right to vote in this important election. I am proud to be a resident in one of the most diverse legislative districts in the State of New Jersey; the 31st Legislative District. Currently, the 31st Legislative District is represented by Senator Sandra Cunningham, Assemblywoman Angela McKnight, and Assemblyman William Sampson.

I am saddened to hear Senator Cunningham has announced her retirement from the New Jersey Legislature. During her time in the New Jersey Senate, she was a fierce advocate for her district and New Jersey. Assemblywoman Angela McKnight is currently running for New Jersey Senate and she is a great choice for the district. She is running with Assemblyman William Sampson, and Barbara Stamato (Vice Chair of Hudson County Democratic Organization/ Chairwoman of the Jersey City Democratic Organization).

The 31st Legislative District comprises parts of Jersey City, the entire City of Bayonne and the township of Kearny. As someone who has lived in the Greenville section of Jersey City, the City of Bayonne and who currently resides in Kearny, I understand the issues the district faces and I’m confident the Column B Democratic Team led by Angela McKnight will fight for all families in Hudson County. It’s important to understand a strong team and partnership is needed in all levels of government which includes the county. Craig Guy is running for Hudson County Executive and will continue to ensure Hudson County is put first.

In conclusion, please join me in supporting the Column B Democratic Team in Hudson County. Most importantly, if you live in the 31st Legislative District, the Senate and Assembly race is crucial to be apart of to ensure your voice is heard.

Best,

Demetrius Terry

Resident of NJ 31st Legislative District
