NJ Academy of Science 66TH Annual Meeting
NJ Academy of Science 66TH Annual Meeting
You are cordially invited to attend/report on the upcoming 66th NJ Academy of Science Annual (Virtual) Meeting. The event will take place on May 15 at 8:45 am to 1:30 pm.
The NJ Academy of Science Annual meeting is a full-day program being curated by Dr. James Arnone (Senior Academy Director) and Ms. Brittany West (Junior Academy Director), with an audience of about 200, made up of high school and undergraduate students, parents, graduate and postdoctoral fellows, educators, and scientists in the biomedical field. Our goal is to build scientific awareness in New Jersey by allowing researchers at all levels to hear about what others in the field and related disciplines are doing, talk with colleagues from different institutions, and learn about new research, tools, and techniques that might be relevant to our scientific community.
There have been approximately 120 submissions between the Junior and the Senior Academies and there is a keynote speaker, Dr. Sulie L. Chang from Seton Hall University. The title of the keynote speaker’s address is, “Network Meta‐analysis on the Mechanisms Underlying Alcohol Augmentation of COVID‐19 Pathologies”. Dr. Chang will be presenting her recent scientific work, that has been highlighted at the NIH National Advisory Council, called “Network Meta‐analysis on the Mechanisms Underlying Alcohol Augmentation of COVID‐19 Pathologies”. This study focuses on the possible relationships between EtOH consumption and COVID‐19 pathologies. This study showcases the importance for clinicians to caution patients about the risk of alcohol consumption, which has increased during the COVID‐19 pandemic.
