NJBIA and Einstein’s Alley Host ‘The Future of Work,’ Oct. 23

 

 

NJBIA is partnering with Einstein’s Alley to present The Future of Work,” at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Crowne Plaza Princeton Conference Center in Plainsboro, where leading experts will explore advanced technology’s impact on our changing economy, workforce training needs, and the future of business.

Jane Oates, who is president of Working Nation and the former assistant secretary for Employment and Training in the U.S. Department of Labor, will keynote the event. Two panel discussions on developing the workforce skills needed to meet the market needs of tomorrow will follow.

The first panel includes New Jersey Labor & Workforce Development Commissioner Robert Asaro-Angelo and state education leaders involved in launching New Jersey’s Apprenticeship Network aimed at spurring economic growth by extending the traditional apprenticeship model to high-growth industry sectors in the innovation economy.

The second panel, moderated by New Jersey Institute of Technology President Joel Bloom, will feature business leaders from the healthcare, food, and logistics industries discussing best practices for properly preparing middle skills workers for future careers in those industries.
