NJCTA Announces Return of its Virtual, Free, Social Equity-Driven, Educational Business Builder Series
Trenton, N.J. (June 6, 2023) – The New Jersey Cannabis Trade Association (NJCTA) is proud to announce the return of its educational, social equity-driven Business Builder Series on June 13 at 12 p.m. on Zoom. The event is free to register and will feature industry-leading experts covering the topic of Navigating Local Approvals. The program is designed to support applicants and licensees in understanding the intricacies of applying for local cannabis applications, seeking resolutions of support and approaching the planning board land use application process.
“One of the most challenging aspects of an entrepreneur’s journey in the cannabis industry is understanding the process of applying for and obtaining local approvals,” said Todd Johnson, NJCTA Executive Director. “For many, this is the point where progress can come to a temporary or complete stop. This session will equip participants with critical knowledge that will help them approach and strategize this part of their journey with confidence, while keeping needed momentum to get their doors open.”
The virtual event will be moderated by Mike McQueeny, Foley Hoag cannabis law attorney and NJCTA General Counsel. The panel of expert speakers features Zenobia Fields, the City of Plainfield’s Department of Economic Development Director; Charles Latini Jr., Infield Consulting’s Planning & Development Team Lead; and Todd Johnson, NJCTA Executive Director and Community Greenhouse LLC’s Managing Partner & Co-Founder.
The NJCTA created this series in response to areas of need highlighted by members of the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (CRC). Previous installments in the series covered Recruiting and Retaining Talent in New Jersey’s Cannabis Industry and an Ask the Lawyers edition during which panelists answered questions from aspiring cannabis industry professionals seeking guidance on a range of topics.
