Staff Continues to Address Record-Setting Number of Unemployment Claims

TRENTON — Due to Governor Murphy’s extended closure order, the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJDOL) announced that all One-Stop Career Centers and offices at 1 John Fitch Way in Trenton will remain closed to the public and nonessential personnel until April 27, 2020.

This is part of the state’s mandate to practice social distancing for public and employee health and safety, while increasing cleaning and sanitizing protocols at all facilities.

The Department understands the impact to the public in need of our services during an unprecedented volume of claims. At this time, when possible, we urge customers to visit the many resources, including helpful FAQs, which may be found at nj.gov/labor and MyUnemployment.nj.gov

Many employees remain essential to the service of our state, in Trenton and working from home, and NJDOL is in the process of increasing the number of representatives to assist with customer questions at this challenging time.
