TRENTON, N.J. — The New Jersey Democratic State Committee is proud to announce that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will serve as special guest at the NJDSC’s Annual Conference in Atlantic City this September. Speaker Pelosi is joining Governor Phil Murphy, NJDSC Chairman John Currie, party leaders and grassroots activists to rally support for Democrats up and down the ballot ahead of Election Day on November 5.

“New Jersey is establishing itself as a shining example of what’s possible when exceptional leaders in government stand up for our shared Democratic values and truly represent the interests of the middle class,” said Speaker Pelosi. “I’m so excited to join Governor Murphy, the state’s outstanding Democratic Congressional delegation and leading voices in state and local government and the progressive grassroots movement at the NJDSC Conference to add my voice to their fight for a stronger and fairer state and country.”

Last year’s “Riding the Blue Wave” NJDSC Conference drew a record crowd of over 2,000 attendees, who helped energize and mobilize the Democratic Party for historic victories during the Midterm Election. That included winning all but one of the state’s seats in the House of Representatives and flipping long Republican held seats in local and county government throughout the stare.

“We could not be more excited to have Speaker Pelosi come to New Jersey and participate in our NJSDC Conference,” said Governor Murphy. “Speaker Pelosi is one of the most consequential figures in our party’s and our nation’s history. Her steady leadership and legislative mastery helped make the Affordable Care Act a reality and is now guiding our House Democratic Caucus forward, and we are honored that she will be with us in Atlantic City as we work to unite all of our party’s stakeholders towards victory in November.”

“Speaker Pelosi has always been a strong progressive leader for the Democratic Party and her voice will help us reach Democrats across the state and encourage them to get involved ahead of November,” said NJDSC Chairman John Currie. “We have learned that elections, both nationally and locally, have consequences. This makes it crucial for us to engage with voters in all corners of New Jersey. By working together, we can take back our country, continue fighting to bring progressive policies and it all begins at our conference in Atlantic City.”
