NJDSC: Ciattarelli Whiffs on Impeachment Question
Ciattarelli Whiffs on Impeachment Question, Refuses to Hold Trump Accountable for Inciting Capitol Insurrection
TRENTON, NJ — Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli just had the perfect opportunity to finally put some distance between himself and Donald Trump — and he failed miserably. When asked by NJ Spotlight News’ David Cruz if he supports the bipartisan impeachment proceedings initiated by the House of Representatives after Trump incited a violent insurrection of the U.S. Capitol that claimed five lives claimed five lives, including a U.S. Capitol police officer from New Jersey, Ciattarelli once again proved that he will never, ever speak out against the worst president in modern history:
CRUZ: All right let me try and get you on the record. Did you support impeachment?
CIATTARELLI: The purpose of impeachment David is to remove the president from office that happens in a few days. So with all the divisiveness and unrest there is in the community and the potential for violence as we saw last Wednesday in Washington D.C. I don’t think impeachment is the way to go.

“Ten Republican members of the House of Representatives had the guts to put country over party and hold Donald Trump accountable for his assault on our democracy, but Jack Ciattarelli absolutely failed this leadership test and showed again why New Jersey can’t trust him,” said NJDSC Executive Director Saily Avelenda. “In these tense and difficult times we need leaders who are willing to fight for our values, regardless of their party affiliation. That will never be Jack Ciattarelli, because he is totally beholden to the radical fringe of the Republican Party that Donald Trump has empowered.”
