NJDSC Vice Chair Peg Schaffer Releases Statement on Historic Jobs Report

TRENTON, NJ – Following the release of the historic January jobs report that showed  6.6 million jobs had been created in the past year, NJDSC Vice Chair Peg Schaffer is releasing the following statement:

“Today’s unprecedented jobs report is further proof that President Biden and Vice President Harris are leading a booming economy that is lifting US workers. 6.6 million jobs created in just 12 months is more than any President in United States history, far exceeding expectations. While Democrats are working tirelessly to put an end to this pandemic and get working families back on their feet, Republicans continue to stand in the way of progress. Though this report is incredibly encouraging, we know that there is still more work to do. New Jerseyans know that we can count on President Biden and Democrats getting right back to work delivering for the American people.”

During the month of January alone, the US economy created 467,000 jobs which is fueling a strong economic recovery. As a result of the American Rescue Plan and the successful vaccination program, Americans are back at work at a record-setting pace.
