Gas Station Owner Gives Back to Florence Victims

Sal Risalvato, Executive Director of the New Jersey Gasoline, C-Store, Automotive Association (NJGCA), released the following statement on NJGCA member Amit Patel and his efforts to aid the people of Craven County, North Carolina following the devastation of Hurricane Florence:

“When Allenwood Exxon gas station owner Amit Patel saw the devastation left behind from Hurricane Florence, he knew he needed to do something to help. Immediately, he took it upon himself to gather a group of his friends, load up two rented F250’s with hitched trailers filled with pallets of water, Gatorade, food, and other needed supplies and drive down to New Bern North Carolina, one of the cities hit hardest by the storm to deliver aid to victims of the storm.”

“Once there, he saw how much the community has been affected by this storm and the devastation left behind from Hurricane Florence. He plans to return to Craven County September 28th with more supplies and volunteers for those who are trying to rebuild.”

“As part of a statewide association for small business owners, our members are integral parts of the communities in which they belong as well as the small business community as a whole. It was not that long ago that we came together as a state to rebuild after Hurricane Sandy destroyed our Shore communities. They know firsthand how difficult the rebuilding process can be. I applaud our member Amit Patel and his efforts to help those affected by Hurricane Florence in North Carolina.”
