TRENTON – Today, Bob Hugin, Chairman of the New Jersey Republican Party (“NJGOP”) called on the New Jersey Democratic State Committee (“NJDSC”) to return Chamath Palihapitiya’s contribution following news of his despicable remarks with respect to the Uyghur Muslim genocide in Communist China:

“Chamath Palihapitiya said the quiet part out loud for Democrats and their allies in the media and big corporations: they simply do not care about an ongoing genocide and other human rights abuses occurring right at this very moment under the Communist Chinese rule. The only thing worse than these unspeakable anti-Muslim comments would be the NJDSC’s decision to keep the $5,354.54 donations they received from him,” said Hugin.

He further called on the NJDSC and Murphy to take a stand against these hateful remarks: “Chairman Jones and Governor Murphy need to condemn these comments and return the money immediately. Period.”
