NJLOM: Outstanding Women in Municipal Government Award Recipients Announced

Perth Amboy Mayor Wilda Diaz will endorse U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders for President, a decision that puts Diaz against the bulk of the Middlesex County Democratic Committee, which supports the presidential candidacy of U.S. Senator Cory Booker from New Jersey.

Outstanding Women in Municipal Government Award Recipients Announced

 

Trenton, NJ (November 18, 2019) Recognizing the contributions and dedicated service toward the advancement of women in municipal government, the NJ State League of Municipalities’ Women in Municipal Government Committee has announced the 2019 winners of the Outstanding Women in Government Award.

This year’s honorees are:

  • Wilda Diaz, Mayor, City of Perth Amboy
  • Maria DiGiovanni, Mayor, Town of Hackettstown
  • Kathleen Canestrino, Deputy Mayor, City of Hackensack
  • Patricia Perkins-Auguste, Councilwoman-At-Large, City of Elizabeth
  • Caroline Ehrlich, Chief of Staff; Executive Director, Woodbridge Redevelopment Agency, Township of Woodbridge

These honorees will be recognized and celebrated at the Women in Municipal Government (WIMG) Networking & Awards Event on Wednesday, November 20 at the League’s 104th Annual Conference in Atlantic City.

WIMG was established by the League of Municipalities’ Executive Board to encourage active involvement and full participation of elected female municipal officials in local government.
