NJPCSA Celebrates National Teacher Appreciation Week Honoring Public School Teachers in New Jersey

HAMILTON, NJ – May 2, 2022 – In honor of National Teacher Appreciation Week (May 2-6), the New Jersey Public Charter Schools Association (NJPCSA) thanks all teachers for their commitment and dedication to helping students in public charter schools reach their full potential. To showcase the diversity and dedication of public charter school teachers throughout the state, the association held a call-for stories and from the submissions selected a number of teachers to feature in videos to recognize their work with students, families and communities.

“New Jersey charter schools are as diverse and unique as our state and we wanted to recognize and thank public school teachers by asking them to share what makes their school a great place to work, learn, and thrive” said Harry Lee, President and CEO of the New Jersey Public Charter Schools Association (NJPCSA). “These videos showcase the diverse teachers in public charter schools who help create nurturing places that were able to accelerate learning during the pandemic.”

The call-for-stories garnered a significant number of compelling stories from public charter school teachers from across the state. After weeks of careful review, 13 teachers were selected and have been awarded a $2,000 cash prize in addition to being featured in a video to tell their unique stories.
